February's Give-Away

For February's Give-Away Apron I chose two old-fashioned, almost vintage looking fabrics I found in Kentucky at Q-first in Quilting store when I was there with Ari.   The owners, Laura and Cora have become such good friends and support through Kelly's illness, in fact, they even let me sew Maddie's quilt (Chinese New Year post) in their store when I was there.

Everyone who posts a comment is eligible for the drawing at the end of the month and by the way...it's a new year, so if you've won before, I wanted to let you know you're just as eligible too!   I love your comments, but moreover, your stories and memories that you share.  Enjoy!

  1. You are multi talented Susan, this apron is gorgeous! I love the fabric border, it certainly does look old fashioned! I have a quilt from my great-great-great grandmother and the dotted design reminds me of some of the fabrics on it. She used pajamas for the quilt from what it looks like and from what I know of quilts that old. Off to see Maddie's quilt! xoxo

  3. I love vintage aprons....I used to collect them when I was younger. I would go into antique stores when I visited a friend in Fairfield VA and I couldn't get enough of these. I also used to wear many of them. Hmmmm now where did those go? I really would love a new apron that looks vintage. Very nice!!

  4. Oh my... how pretty!

I grew up wearing aprons. My mother, who died when I was six, was from Lick Creek, Kentucky, and my Grandparents lived there until they too passed away.

    The fabric is very pretty.
